Meskipun kita tak tahu bahasa yang mereka ucapkan, tiga komentator yang kerap dimunculkan di pojok kanan layar sanggat mengganggu jalannya pertandingan. Parahnya lagi, salah seorang komentator yang bernama Auttapon Kaithong kedapatan menghina Indonesia dan tim wakil Indonesia, Bali United.
Omong kosong, penipu dari Indonesia, dan aku tidak suka dengan celana mereka yang bermotif sarung, adalah beberapa kalimat negatif yang keluar dari mulut Auttapon hampir selama 90 menit pertandingan.
Atas ucapanannya yang seakan menghina Indonesia tersebut, Auttapon akhirnya kena batunya. Fans sepak bola Thailand dan asosiasi sepak bola setempat mengkritik sekaligus memberi teguran terhadap komentator berambut pirang tersebut.
Auttapon Kaithong pun hanya bisa meminta maaf melalui akun instagramnya kepada publik Indonesia dan Thailand atas perbuatan yang telah dilakukannya itu.
‘’Salam kepada semua orang dari Indonesia. Dari pertandingan terakhir antara Changrai melawan Bali United. Saya ditugaskan sebagai komentator dan diinstruksikan untuk menjadi berat sebelah. Namun saya lupa tentang etika, sportif, dan bersikap hormat terhadap lawannya. Saya merasa bersalah yang luar biasa saat pertandingan terakhir. Saya ingin menyampaikan maaf yang paling dalam kepada semua orang, khususnya Indonesia dan pemain Bali United. Saya berjanji
tidak akan lagi hal seperti ini lagi,’’ tulis Auttapon melalui akun instagramnya @bellrelease, seperti dilansir dari indosport.com(25/01/2018).
Pertandingan yang dipandu Auttapon itu sendiri berakhir dengan kemenangan tipis Changrai United 2-1 atas Bali United. Dengan hasil itu, Serdadu Tridatu pun harus mengakhiri mimpi bermain di Liga Champions Asia.
